Guidelines regarding the Mystic Paper Beasts Theatre Co. Rehearsal Space, located at 401 Shewville Rd., Ledyard, Ct., as decided by the Mystic Paper Beasts Board of Trustees.
This is not a public hall. Users may not publicly advertise events. Participation is by invitation only.
The Mystic Paper Beasts Theatre Co. will review all applications for use of the new rehearsal space, and will pass these on to the Board of Directors. Such proposals for use should be submitted via email, in the body of an email letter, and should include a brief description of the activity and goal, and of the artists, and of the date(s) desired. This can be sent to Marya at mybeasts@aol.com. She then will forward this to the Board. Artists should hear within a week whether or not their proposal will work for the Egg.
- I. Building Use
- A. Mystic Paper Beasts rehearsals, performances, workshops, events.
- B. The Board of Directors may permit use of the building for rehearsal and events by artists and performers such as puppeteers, mask makers, theatre performers/actors, dancers, musicians. Such use would be permitted only when the building is not in use by the Mystic Paper Beasts Theatre Co. and thus would provide no conflict of space or time.
- C. Other considerations limiting the use of the building will include season (weather conditions), parking needs, nature of the activity, insurance coverage.
Because there is only one bathroom in the building, portojohns will be required for large groups. Such groups would be required to arrange for the rental of the portojohn and would be responsible for its cost, and for its removal (Westerly portojohn: 1 800 427 7554; or Richard White, N. Stonington: 860 535 0592).
Use of shower, equipment upstairs and down, is by permission only.
- II. Fees for use of Space.
- A. Rent: $10/hr.; $25/3 hrs.; or 15% of the collected fee,- whichever is higher (N.B.). Scholarships may be available.
- B. Participants and presenters must sign a waiver of liability.
- C. Presenters must present proof of insurance.

III. Requirements for Use: List of responsibilities upon leaving the space
- 1. Dry mop rehearsal space
- 2. Sweep and pick up entry area and dressing room area, stairs, upstairs.
- 3. Clean and pick up bathroom, sink in entry area
- 4. Make sure the space is left clear
- 5. Close all windows and doors and secure them; wash if necessary due to activity.
- 6. Remove all trash, all food, etc.
- 7. Return things to where they were.
- 8. If heat was turned up, turn it back down
- 9. we ask that you doÊ your own laundry Please Bring Laundry to the Mystic Village Laundromat and pre pay under the name Mystic Paper Beasts. We will pick it up.
- 10. Replace in kind such things as tea, etc.
- 11. Reparation or replacement of any property damaged is the responsibility of the user
- 12. Call the Mystic Paper Beasts Theatre Co. at 860 535 3346 to assure them that the space has been left as described above.
